    The Cuatrogatos Foundation and the Miami Book Fair organized the 5th. Seminar on Children's Literature and Reading, which took place on November 17, 2018.;This year the central theme of the event was More Books, More Freedom.The Seminar, aimed at teachers, librarians, parents and all adults interested in books for children and the promotion of reading, had the following program:

    The Narrative for Young People in Ibero-America
    Panel with the writers Elia Barceló (Spain), Fanuel Hanán Dí­az (Venezuela) and Sergio Andricaí­n (Cuba-United States). Presentation of the book Puentes de palabras: 25 Ibero-American authors of narrative for young people (CEPLI-Fundación Cuatrogatos).

    Editorials of llustrated Books for Children and Young People
    Panel with the editors Luis Zendrera, of Editorial Juventud (Spain), and Fernando Garcí­a, of Libros del Zorro Rojo (Spain). Coordinator: Jefferson Quintana (Venezuela).

    Reading and Independent Thinking
    Panel with writers Arianna Arteaga Quintero (Venezuela), Joxemari Iturralde (Spain) and José Fragoso (Spain). Coordinator: Fanuel Hanán Dí­az (Venezuela).

    Hidden Beauty: Art in Children's Books
    Lecture by the writer Irene Vasco (Colombia).

    What Do I Love and Hate About Children's Books?
    Panel with the writers Marí­a José Ferrada (Chile), Paloma Muiña (Spain) and Ana Marí­a Shua (Argentina). Coordinator: Antonio Orlando Rodrí­guez (Cuba-United States).

    As a preamble to the Seminar, on November 16 there were meetings with the writers Irene Vasco, Paloma Muiña, Arianna Arteaga Quintero and Sergio Andricaí­n, in which about 400 children who studied Spanish participated. These literary encounters were organized by the Cuatrogatos Foundation, the Miami Book Fair, and the Department of Bilingual and Foreign Languages of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
